Reflections of VEX northern china competition

· Academic

Continuing from the last time, the VEX Robotics elective course has been going on for more than a month: in this month, we have successfully formed two teams to participate in the competition - 6353A led by Ma Ruihao and 6353B led by Benjamin - to participate in the Beijing City Competition in September. Now, after learning robot modeling and machine structure with other club members, we finally ushered in the next game of the series - VEX Northern China competition.

In the fierce competition of this Northern China competition, the 6353A and 6353B teams of BAID tried their best to show the strength and style of the team. Team A was unfortunately eliminated in the points competition, while Team B entered the semi-finals through an outstanding performance in the rematch after experiencing the ups and downs of the points competition. Although it lost to the champion team, it ended the competition with a third place. This experience has taught us a lot and also inspired the team's determination to continue to improve.

This competition made us deeply realize the importance of technical stability. After all, the operators of Team A lacked experience in actual combat. After losing the first few games of the points competition, they successfully corrected their mistakes and adjusted their mentality. However, the players' careful polishing and innovative design of the robot's functions before the game are still worthy of recognition. For Team B, this time they were able to rank among the top three, which is inseparable from the team's efforts in debugging and optimizing the robot. Judging from the performance on the field, the robot has made progress in the flexibility and stability of operation, laying a more solid foundation for subsequent games.

In many games, we felt the power of teamwork. Team B made it all the way from the group stage to the semi-finals, thanks to the tacit cooperation and efficient communication between the players, including the cooperation training with the company from another school team in the hotel the day before the rematch. This team spirit not only improved the performance on the field, but also allowed everyone to establish deeper trust and friendship in the game. Although there is still room for improvement in communication during the game, the overall tacit understanding has won the team a valuable advantage.

When facing the champion team in this semi-final, Team B realized that the ability to flexibly adjust tactics is particularly important in key games. The opponent's response speed taught us a lesson, reminding us not only to improve our skills, but also to cultivate the ability to quickly judge and adjust tactics. In future competitions, we will strengthen pre-match strategic drills so that we can respond quickly to different situations and further enhance our overall competitiveness. In addition to the response speed during the game, we also realized the importance of the automatic link in the game. The victory in the automatic link can not only provide 6 points and grab more basic bases, but also provide higher confidence for the manual part; for us, there is still a lot of room for improvement in the stability of the automatic, which is also a necessary condition for us to rush for the championship. This Northern China competition not only allows us to accumulate valuable experience, but also points out the direction for future competitions. Although the performance of Team A and Team B is regrettable, it also allows us to see the room for each other's growth. We will continue to improve our technical level, enhance teamwork, and make more adequate preparations in strategic formulation and response. I believe that in future competitions, we will show the style of the BAID VEX Robotics Team with a stronger attitude! This Northern China competition is the starting point of growth and inspires us to move forward unremittingly.
